Renowned as an international haven of paradise beaches, Malta has also captured the senses of some famous politicians, celebrities and other well-known people. It is not only a perfect place for non-native English students who like to study in an English school in Malta, but also it is a place where the beaches and resorts are closest to perfection. Many foreigners would love to visit Malta because of its richness in culture and history. And because Malta recognizes English as the second official language, it is no surprise why many foreign students want to stay in Malta to learn English language while having a vacation.
Because of the beauty of Malta, no wonder why these people never dared to miss the chance of visiting the place. 1. Madonna and Guy Richie – the ex-couple went to Malta on 2001 to shot a movie directed by Madonna’s ex-husband, Guy Richie and was starred by her. Madonna stayed for three weeks in the state and was given a tripled security by the Maltese government because of the US terrorist attacks that time. The ex-couple went to Malta with their two children. 2. Elton John – The famous singer had his first visit in Malta in 2003 for a much-awaited concert. But prior to the show, there were many issues buzzing in where residents in Floriana (the concert place) disgruntled because of the disruption caused by the closed streets. However, the show must go on and Elton John had his return on 2010 to the beautiful place of Malta. 3. Pope John Paul II – Malta has greatly embraced Catholicism and so, when the late Pope John Paul II visited Malta in 2001, tens and thousands of people attended the mass to see the pope in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. 4. Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt – The two leaders of US and UK combined powers against the Germans in 1945. UK Prime Minister Churchill and US President Roosevelt had a conference in Malta in 1945 called the Malta Conference to have a joint US and British Chiefs of Staff Committee. The conference started on the 30th of January but President Roosevelt arrived on the last day of the conference on February 2. 5. Steven Spielberg – One of the greatest and multi-awarded director Steven Spielberg chose Malta as one of the places to film his 2005 movie ‘Munich’ starring Eric Bana. The movie will be portraying eight Mediterranean countries and all were shoot in Malta. Malta shows its rich multicultural and versatile history, culture and places. No wonder why the biggest production in Hollywood like Universal Studios and DreamWorks Pictures always have their films being shot in Malta. 6. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – Hollywood’s sexiest couple went to Malta this June in 2011 to film Brad’s produced movie, World War Z. Brad and Angelina brought with them their adopted and biological children on a private aircraft. This is Brad’s second time to visit Malta after his movie, Troy, was shot there and he played the role of Achilles who was the mightiest of the Greeks. Angelina and their children enjoyed their leisure time while Brad is shooting. These famous people are only some of those who fancy Malta and chose the beautiful island among a lot of choices of equally beautiful countries. Malta is exceptionally astonishing and people are the nicest.
